Back in 2020, like many others, I ordered 4D Number Plates, why? they looked better, they finished the look I was after and I couldn’t wait to put them on. so off I went screwdriver in one hand ready to take off the cheap looking plastic plates, and the trusty double sided sticky tape in the other.

like many other car enthusiasts that love tinkering with cars in their free time, we all know most cars that have work done on a driveway will end up have something on the car held on by double side tape, cable ties and a little bit of luck.

So when my sticky tape failed, lost my plates and was left with sticky black goop over my bodywork I knew there had to be a better solution, I had the idea of using magnets to keep them on, how could that not work? the perfect solution to keep the bodywork clean, take the road plates off on show stands and slap them straight back on when I was ready to hit the road.

Off I went and ordered the best kit I could find, followed the directions to the letter, and no hope. first they wouldn’t line up, then when they did the first sign of a speed bump, pot hole or quick take off, they dropped to the floor.

so i ordered another kit, and another, and another until i finally gave up on other suppliers and decided we would have a go at making our own

testing multiple size and shaped magnets, different patterns different placements and from prototype to prototype until we got it just right.

now we have the perfect product we’re proud to call ours

made from a polycarbonate casing, making them lightweight and flexible perfect for getting around even the curviest of bumpers, and malleable for those extreme curves. if your number plate can can take it, so can our Mag-Plate bracket.

our product has been test driven on the roads and racetracks over the past 12 months

tested at over 155mph, 100mph winds, -10’c snow storms and some of North Wales roughest terrains our Mag-Plate kit has been unshakeable.

FAQs

  • with the magic of magnets.

    simply attach the mag-plate to your number plate with your preferred brand of sticky tape and your good to go.

    For the front bumper, simply remove your front bumper, place your inner bracket where you want you plate to sit. And apply using your preferred brand of double sided sticky tape to the inside of the bumper.

    for the rear bumper, if you have a metal tailgate, simply attach the Mag-Plate to your number plate and there you have it, as simple as that.

  • the answer will depend on how comfortable you are working with cars.

    if your uncomfortable with removing your front bumper then we recommend having a professional install this product.

    or keep an eye out for our new line of products that will prevent the need for removing your bodywork.

    if you are comfortable, then its as easy as taking off your front bumper, cleaning the area, applying the inner Mag-Plate bracket, reattach your bumper and your good to go.

  • don’t worry, we feel your pain. we have some solutions to this problem

    the first is you repeat the process for the front bumper, remove the tailgate cover and install the inner Mag-Plate bracket.

    our second option is currently in prototype testing and will be available soon.
